Initial Drug Diversion Initiative
The IDDI program is a discretionary police diversion program aimed at eligible adult and juvenile drug offenders who are at the early stages of contact with the criminal justice system.
The primary target group is individuals who have little or no past contact with the criminal justice system for drug offences and are apprehended for use or possession of small quantities of any illicit drug.
Holyoake offers early intervention counselling for people to address their illicit drug use, before incurring a criminal record.
The program also helps to reduce the number of people appearing before the courts for use or possession of small quantities of drugs.
